Anxiety in Motherhood: A Guided Workshop

What to expect

Motherhood can be described as a joyous and fulfilling experience, but it can also come with its fair share of challenges. When anxiety weaves its way into the fabric of motherhood, it can create a complex tapestry of emotions that many mothers may find difficult to navigate.
Anxiety can manifest in various forms for different individuals. From worrying about every little detail to anticipating worst-case scenarios, anxiety can intrude upon a mother's ability to fully embrace the joys of motherhood. The responsibilities of caring for a child can amplify these anxious feelings, creating a heightened sense of vulnerability.

The pressure to be a perfect mother further exacerbates anxiety in many women. Society's expectations, coupled with the self-imposed burdens of being a nurturing figure, can leave mothers feeling overwhelmed and anxious about their ability to meet these standards. The constant comparison with other mothers can intensify these feelings, leaving one to question if they are doing enough or doing it right. As women navigate the challenges of anxiety and motherhood, it is essential to prioritize their mental health.

In this download, we’ll explore the experience of anxiety (common symptoms & triggers), introduce the nervous system, and then move into somatic practices to soothe our anxiety. Reminder to be gentle and compassionate with yourself throughout this workshop. There’s no need to do it all in one sitting — do whatever feels right for you. If you are looking for more one-on-one support, please reach out to our team. You do not have to struggle alone.

As a gentle reminder, The Studio is not a replacement for therapy. If you live in California and are interested in a consultation, please reach out to me. Otherwise, Psychology Today is a great tool to find a licensed clinician in your area.
