Mapping Your Nervous System: A Guided Exercise

What to expect

In this guided exercise, Dr. Kelly Vincent teach you how to map your nervous system. Understanding and regulating the nervous system is important for maintaining overall health and well-being. Deb Dana's nervous system mapping is a tool that will help you to understand and track your nervous system responses to different situations and stimuli. It involves identifying three different states of the nervous system: the ventral vagal state, the sympathetic state, and the dorsal vagal state. By recognizing which state the nervous system is in, you can learn to regulate and respond to situations in a more adaptive way. Deb Dana is a licensed clinical social worker and consultant who has extensively studied and written about the nervous system and its impact on mental health and well-being.

As a gentle reminder, The Studio is not a replacement for therapy. If you live in California and are interested in a consultation, please reach out to me. Otherwise, Psychology Today is a great tool to find a licensed clinician in your area.
